Hello everyone! I haven't seen anyone make a tutorial on how to make pirouette sticks, so I decided to make one. This is my first tutorial and I hope that it's easy to follow ^^; Here we go!
1. First start with two balls of clay. In this tutorial, I used the standard chocolate swirl flavor so tan and dark brown are shown here.
The clays I used was Studio by Sculpey. The studio clay is much more easy to squish and is easier on your fingers (so you don't feel like you'll get carpel tunnel syndrome ToT).

2. Roll both clays into skinny strips like you see here and lay them side by side so that they are touching.

3. Twist the strips together. If you want your swirls closer together, twist so that the colors are much closer together.

4. Rub the whole strip against your work surface so that the bumps flatten down. As you can see, the swirls are wide or skinny depending on how it was twisted. The closer the swirls are twisted together, the closer the swirls will be together when you rub it down.
5. Next, place the clay into the freezer or fridge for up to 30 minutes so that the clay is easier to cut.

6. Cut the strip into smaller strips, straighten any curvy ones out, then bake.
Voila! You've got your sturdy pirouette sticks ^^
Hope you liked my first tutorial and I would love to see results of anyone that has tried it out :D

Here is my Sailor Moon Super S Brooch so far. I'm planning to make the yellow clay into gold and sanding everything down as well. Then the final glaze.

Rough sketch of my new drawing. ^^
I still can't really comprehend why there is such a thing as cosplay elitists. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's usually the Sailor Moon cosplayers who only cosplay from that show or lolita crazies. What is wrong with you people?!!! Cosplay is all about fun!! If someone didn't make something accurately, maybe they don't care as much as YOU! Why does it have to be so perfect when it's just all for fun? I honestly don't see any Japanese people acting elitist about cosplays. Even if they think someone's cosplay is terrible, they won't get up in that person's face and be completely rude about it.
Secondly, why is it always the caucasian females who are elitists? o_O I'm NOT trying to be racist. It's just some thing I observed for several years now.

So....here is a random doodle..
I'm trying to design a mascot or cool costume in which a gyaru is wearing it, but my creative juices(if I even have any), are drained or non-existent at the moment, so this is all I could come up with...
Here are two cute little ghosts i made out of random fun though! :D

Boo!!
I'm sorry I haven't been updating as fast as before. Recently we got a new member in the family!

His name is Deco! He's still a baby so he naps a lot...a LOT hehehe but he enjoys being on people's shoulders the most. :3
For a deco update, I deco-ed my phone! The whipped cream I used was Fuwa Fuwa. Verrrrrry different from regular silicon caulk like I'm used to. It has no harmful odors that linger in the air like caulk obviously. I'd have to say I like caulk better though since it dries faster. However with Fuwa Fuwa, you can rearrange all your pieces without worrying about the whipped cream drying on you too fast so soon. Both has its pros and cons I guess ^^;

and here's my first attempt! x_X; I don't have much creativity in arranging things, but I wanted to somewhat create a border with pearls. The strawberry was made from a mold and I hand made the clay bows using Hikaria's tutorial <3 The white rose is from a hair clip that I just broke off and I made a latex mold of it which produced the pink rose underneath it LOL Yep yep!
I also wanted to try hand making a rose and peony. Here are my attempts! :D

Peonies are my favorite! :3 I plan to deco something with peonies soon!
REAL food time! After eating real macaroons for the first time, I had to learn how to make them on my own. Everyone's tutorials say that it takes a few tries until you get it right because the hardest part is baking at the right temp. The trick is to keep watch on your macaroons and make sure they don't get way too hot or else the shells will crack easily. Also you have to bake them enough so that they can slide off of the parchment paper easily as well. Here is my 2nd attempt!

As you can see, the macaroons on the top rack baked nicely, but the ones on the bottom cracked since it was way too hot. (I was too lazy to flatten the peaks btw)

And here they are! :D
Hope you all enjoyed this update ^_^

I made some "oreo" look-alike cookies for a custom order. They are unfinished in this photo. I've been working a bit slow lately because I've been very busy . T-T

I also spotted a local supermarket that sells macaroons depending on the season! Ahhh they looked so yummy so I had to get them despite how expensive they are...=( but they were sooo delicious! I got ingredients to make some of my own as well! I will post photos of my own soon :3

I have been very busy slaving away at a fairly large order of 10 ice cream cone key chains, plus trying to make new things. *sigh* Making these things take up so much time, but it's so fun and addicting >.< I'm getting excited about winter coming up, especially CHRISTMAS so that I can make a clay gingerbread house! <3<3<3
Well anyway, here are some new things that I have been making....

My JUMBO cupcake ring!! Muhahahaha

Necklaces!!!

This was an order I had to make. 5 pairs of ice cream(Strawberry and Moose tracks). It was pretty tedious since I had to hand shape every cone. @_@

..and all that jazz.

Hi everyone! and welcome to Decocha! A blog about my deco deco art! <3
Yay! This is my very first post about my deco blog and I am very excited to share my first tries in making deco sweets! I am also selling custom deco sweets as well, but more information about that will be coming soon. <3
I remember spotting cutesy deco sweets at a convention a few years back and really wanted to buy one, but did not have any cash on me T^T; However, this year the same seller was there and I was very curious in what kinds of materials are used to make these cute sweets. The artist told me that most of the material she buys is from Japan and to search up tutorials on how to make different things.
So...I did obviously and once I started, I could NOT stop! I spend so much time making fake food, that I forget to eat real food x_x;
Anyway, here are some of my first creations with deco sweets! I discovered many techniques in also making other foods as well :3

Enjoy!
Ice cream scoops! This is what I started off making since it's the most basic and easiest to make :D
The rest of these photos are not in order by when I made them btw.

The next photos were special commissions that I did for my boyfriend and his coworker. Being that these are both guys(not to sound sexist), they didn't want any "shiny desu" stuff on their key chains. ^^; The first one is obviously a hamburger and hotdog. The second photo underneath is a roasted fish and brie cheese(my bf loves seafood and cheese o_O)

Well there ya have it for now. Hope you enjoyed viewing my first few creations! :3
